Some jewellery

When I was in Cardiff the other week we did have a crafty day and we mainly made some jewellery and here are the bracelets I have made.

The first 3 bracelets are made in the same way but look different as different types of beads were used. When I return from my holiday I will be sorting out my beads and making some more.

This bracelet was made with snowflake spacers, rhinestone spacers and large beads. beautiful in the flesh and can be made with many different coloured beads.

More More More Christmas Cards

I am off on holiday on Friday for a month and am really really excited..having lots to do, hence lack of blogging. Well I have been trying to tidy up my craft room but I keep finding things to play with :-). Although this hasn't been bad cause I have managed to make some really quick and easy cards.

Basically they have been made using Kanban's Christmas Verses, mirri card and backing papers, some ribbon and gems. The pictures haven't come out too good but you can get the jist.

These 2 cards are made from Daisy & Dandelion - Penelope & Percy A4 christmas pad. The backing papers have the image already on and just cut to fit the square card with a greeting added. Look really effective.

Craft Items used:-
Kanban Christmas Verses
Daisy & Dandelion Christmas Collection 'A Winters Tale'
Papermania Signature Paper pad - A Christmas Carol
Papermaina ' Home for Christmas' paper pad
Daisy & Danedelion - Penelope & Percy paper pack
Tonic snowflake punch
Gold & Silver Mirri card
Ribbon
Gems

Forever Friends

Good morning from a very blustery South Coast here. We are due for some storming weather over the next few hours. Have been out for a nice walk this morning, blew away the cobwebs and now going to chill for the day.

Cards today were made a couple of weeks ago. I needed to make a card for my niece who is 21 this year and as she lives in the states it needed to be a flat card. I used the Forever Friends CD and made the card in their designer studio.

These 2 cards were also made with the CD and are for my friends twin sons.

Have made some cards..

3rd posting today and I do have some cards to show you, Christmas ones.

The first 2 are made form the Kanban Christmas kit from last year. I do love this Santa. The 2 cards are on 4ins x 4ins cards.

I hadn't planned on making the following cards as I wanted to tidy my craft room but, as you do, I came across some decoupaged toppers that I had made last year and had never made it onto cards. I had to make some cards so these were ideal. 6ins x 6ins card blanks, backing paper from a Daisy & Dandelion Christmas paper pack, mirri card cut with a scalloped square nestie and then matted and layered together. The greetings come from the same decoupaged sheets. Quick easy cards.

Cardiff Oct 11th - 13th

First official place visited by The 'Apple Mangos' . (Group of friends that go away each year to Appleby Magna - see previous posts ). This trip started off as an off the cuff remark that I made to Trace about her stash of beads and here we were - 9 of us- on route to Cardiff for the weekend - home of Trace. I went up with Pam and as we were going to Cardiff we couldn't not go and see the Dr Who Experience could we. So on the Friday afternoon that's where we went. have to say the exhibition was fabulous but they could have done more with the experience but maybe that's cause I have visited Disney World a few times and they know how to do experiences :-). I was glad I went though and thoroughly enjoyed it.

The Severn Bridge

More Catch Up Time

My oh my, time does seem to be going at a rapid rate just recently.. nearly at the end of October already!!. Well what have I been up to... well following on from my birthday, that following weekend hubby and I went back down to Hampshire to spend another few days break down there. We went down on the Sunday and stopped off at Southsea. We had gone to Portsmouth to book the car ferry for a day trip to the Isle of Wight on the Monday and as the day was so beautiful we decided to have a walk along the prom. We were staying in a new Premier Inn at Gosport.

Here's a 'selfie' of hubby and I on Southsea Prom

On the Monday we went over to the island for the day and what another beautiful day that was. here is a view from Culver Down -(my sanctuary) over looking Sandown bay over towards Shanklin.

On the Tuesday we decided to have a drive down to the New Forrest. here is a view of the woods near to Brockenhurst. Absolutely beautiful.

The Wednesday 9th was our 20th Wedding anniversary. Not bad for a marriage people said wouldn't last but we have proved them all wrong. :-) We came home on the Wednesday.

On the Friday I went away again to Cardiff with a group of friends. Pictures will follow in the next post.

Catch Up part 2 - My Birthday

It was my birthday on the 2nd of October and I reached the grand old age of 47. Goodness that sounds old when I say it out loud but in my mind I'm only 28 so I don't let it bother me. Age is but a number!!

Here are some of the beautiful handmade cards that I received. Wasn't I lucky.

Catch Up part one

Well what a busy month I am having and we are still  only half way through October. Time for a catch up.

At the beginning of the month hubby and I went away for a few days down to the New Forest. It was my birthday on the 2nd and this was part of my treat. I love this part of the country and we were very lucky with the weather. We normally stay on a Premier Inn and this time we stayed at Southampton Airport.
We went away on the 28th and came back on 30th September.

Here are a few pictures that I took of the ponies.

 and the donkeys.

This chap came to say hello when we had stopped off in Brockenhurst. We had parked up in the carpark and I went to take a picture of him and he decided to come up and investigate my camera.

Fabulous Fashion CD

As yesterday was Wednesday it is my day with Leon. We had a very hectic day at Drusillas (local zoo park). He has now discovered the soft play area which is great for him except as he loves climbing and has no fear, Nanny has to go with him. I was getting my body in all sorts of positions yesterday that I never thought I could. Mixing that with my hot flushes (that luckily have subsided a bit) is not a good combination, But we had a fab time and he was knackered so it was a good day.

I haven't been able to make cards for a couple of days but today I am showing a couple that I made from the Fabulous Fashion CD by Katy Sue Designs. I have seen this CD demo'ed on Create and Craft and although I liked the examples I wasn't going to bother with buying it. That was until I went to the GBCF - I fell in love with the examples that they had on there stand, so much better in the flesh so I just had to buy it.

I used the decoupage sheet and printed it off. Even on my old printer, the colours are fabulous. The backing papers were also printed from the CD. I didn't use all the decoupage layers so was able to make 2 cards with the 1 decoupage sheet.

This first card has been made for my mother in laws birthday. Very simple. A5 card blank. Backing sheets from CD, added some gems and greeting from Craftwork cards.

This card looks so much better in the flesh and I love it. 8 x 8 card blank. Again the backing papers are from the CD but different colour ways to the previous card. Backing card is bazzill card in green and mauve. Hat stand matt has been cut using spellbinder dies. Tiny gems have been used on the hat and the matt. The greeting is from Little Claires Designs stuck onto bazzill cut with spellbinders. I have added a ribbon hand the flourish is a marianne die. (never used one before :-) ). The flowers are paper roses.
