Thursday Craft Workshop

Last Thursday was card workshop day, so off I went to pick Pam up. Pick her up and about a mile down the road from where she lives, I had to stop to let a lorry turn in the road. About 30 seconds later we heard a huge bang and the car was shunted forward, the car behind me decided to use me as a stopping block... she had driven straight into the back of me, obviously not looking where she was going or maybe being on her phone. Luckily for me, my car wasn't that damaged and it was drive able unlike hers (as you can see from the pictures).

Her car!

My car - poor bumper and dented boot!

We exchanged details and I said that I would contact her that evening, then Pam & I continued off to our workshop. Luckily Pam and I were ok, although the following morning I woke up with a sore chest (the seat belt had aggravated an old injury) I'm ok now though!

Anyway as said we did get to the workshop and here is the card that we made. The stamp is a 'stampin up' stamp and we used the 'reflection' technique which is very easy to do. The card has been made to look shabby and distressed ( got my OCD going as don't really do distressed :-) ) but did enjoy doing the card!

Some male cards & a bit of an accident......

I have had quite a few male birthdays during August and these cards are so great and easy to do so I made another 3. I think I will probably be making a few more of these. :-)

Now my friend called me the other day and asked me to make a card for her brother. He plays a lot of golf so I thought the topper from Acid Drops & Whatnots was ideal. I layered it onto black & white card. Added a peel off 'Brother' which I coloured with a black promarker. As I it was needed the next day I photographed it and put it on my desk ready to take round to her. I went to turn my computer off and accidentally knocked over a can of drink and although I was quick, some went over the card. Trying to clean it I made it worse and ended up in a temper and tore the card up!!!

So I ended up having to make another one jolly quick! I managed to save the 'Brother' and the greeting from the bottom of the card. I had another topper so I used that. She was happy with it.

Great British Craft Fair

As some of you may be aware, it was Hunkydory's Great British Craft Fair at the weekend in the Midlands and my mate Pam and I took a trip up there on Thursday to make a full weekend of it. The Friday was a day of workshops, 4 in total. Here are the projects that we made.

Melanie Heaton - All the flowers are made from circles of card. This was my favourite workshop of the day. Loved making all the flowers. The frame should have a stand with it but I have left that off as I will be mounting the frame onto a card and putting a greeting the center.

Rebecca Sneddon - These are from one of the Christmas kits from Hunkydory this year. Quite enjoyable to make as everything has been done for you. You just need to basically stick them together. I do love working with Hunkydory kits as they are so easy.

The Dreamees - The hast was cut from a template (already done in the pack) and we had lots of spiral roses and ribbon to decorate the hat as we wanted. I like the hat but this was the last workshop of the day and I was tired and lost the will to live after making all the roses. :-)

Ali Reeve - This was a fun class to do and quite messy. Started off with an MDF frame and a white canvas. Embossed card was stuck to the frame and them painted with blue paint. Brown paint was then dabbed on using a sponge and then mica powders on the top. The 'flower' was made of string, stuck on, covered in foil and the painted.. I do like the effect.

This is the second year that we have gone and it won't be the last. Not only did we have the 4 workshops, but tea & coffee all day and lunch plus we got lots of freebies at the end of the day.

A couple of easy Men's Cards

Here are a couple of cards I made a couple of weeks ago using the same technique as learnt in a recent workshop. Here is the original post to see what was used.
