Greta's Playday

Last Thursday a group myself and 3 other crafty friends descended on Greta for a crafty play day. We have 2 or 3 of these days every year (wish we had more!!) and normally not much crafting is done as we are normally just chatting. However this time I managed to finish 5 cards!!! One was my grandsons' card which I have already shown you. The others are shown below.

This is a Hunkydory pin wheel card. Effective and quite easy to make.

The following cards are ones that I had from a craft workshop day that Clair held for her birthday about 2.5 years ago.I didn't quite manage to finish them on the day so I prepped all the pieces to finish at home but as normal I never got round to them until now or last week. I am not sure if they have been finished as Clair intended them to be but they are finished. I still have 3 more to finish so watch this space!

Party Party Party

I have had a real busy weekend partying with family :-). On Friday hubby and I ventured up to Bedford for my niece's 40th birthday party. The journey up there was horrendous, what should have taken 2 hours took 4 due to the lovely M25. However it was well worth the time as I had a great time with my family whom I don't get to see often. Here are a few pictures of the night.

My sister and brother in law (not the birthday girl's mum!)

Me and hubby (my wig fell off!!!)

My niece and I (not the birthday girl!!)

The birthday girl!

We came home from Bedford on Saturday. A much better journey home, only taking 2 hours.
Today - Sunday- is my youngest grandsons' 1st birthday - how did that happen??. My son and daughter in law gave him a small party and here are some pictures from today.

Challenge Card

I have just come back from a quick stop over in Bedford to celebrate one of my niece's 40th birthday. The journey there yesterday afternoon was a nightmare due to having to travel on the M25 - took 4 hours to get to Bedford instead of the 2 hours satnav said. However it was well worth it and we had a great time catching up with family.

Talking of family it is Ollie's birthday (my youngest grandson!) tomorrow. 1 already!! How did that happen?? The card that I am showing you is the one  have made for him.

I have followed this months sketch challenge over on Clair & Sharni Get Crafty . I do love a sketch :-)

Workshop 9th Feb

Had another lovely morning yesterday at Clair & Sharni's workshop. Made another couple of beautiful cards using the same stamp set from Stampin Up.

Sharni's card
Made from one sheet of A4 card.
C6 card blank made from the card
Stampin Up Birthday Blooms coloured with promarkers
Sizzix embossing folder - (do not know what it is called)
Clear embossing powder and embossing pad
Black momento ink.

- First time haven't made a mess with embossing with powder and heat gun :-)

Clair's Card
Customised card black
Stampin up Birthday Blooms set
MFT Simply Fabulous Sayings
Sue Wilson Noble Pierced Rectangles
The diagonal stripy backing paper was done using a line of funky foam stuck onto a Fiskars stamp press - very effective.

Bad News & Another Challenge

Not a happy bunny this week! A couple of weeks ago my laptop decided to break on me and it needed a new hard drive. I wasn't that worried as all my important items were stored on an external hard drive so I knew they were safe However last week I couldn't get my external hard drive to work so I took it into someone to have a look at it but unfortunately there is nothing he can do so consequently I have lost all my photos, files, digital scrapbooking pages and I had just completed my scrapbooking year book for 2015 and scrapping all my holiday photos from 2015 also. I shed a few tears (I know silly!!) but I have now resigned myself . I will now back up my back and start again.

On a happier note the card I have to show you is for one of my sons' whose birthday it is soon. I have followed this week's sketch over on Sketch Saturday here.

Here is the sketch

Here is my card.

Something A Little Different..

Well what a couple of grotty days we have had, real damp and depressing, still first day of Feb today so Spring is round the corner.

Had my grandson's today so am a bit knackered. The youngest one has started walking and is everywhere. :-)

I have something different to show you today. I have decided that I will try and make some things for presents instead of given money. Years ago I bought a lot of MDF shapes. Here is the first one made for my great niece. I enjoyed doing it and will definitely will be doing more.

I have used the following:-

Butterfly shape was from the MDF Man
Sizzix Lollipop Uppercase Alphabet
Dovercraft Monochrome Paper
Wink of Stella on the letters
Gems, ribbon and flowers from my stash.
